Measurement Engineering

Measurement Engineering is the construction of a business's marketing data infrastructure — server-side tracking, dashboards and real attribution — so that every euro invested can be traced to the client it generated. Without rigorous measurement, optimizing marketing is just guessing with style.

01 / Output

  • Real cost per lead and cost per client, by channel
  • Tracking that survives ad blockers and cookie changes
  • One dashboard, the numbers that matter, zero noise
  • Investment decisions backed by data, not hunches

02 / Build

  • Server-side tracking (Conversions API, enhanced conversions)
  • Standardized dataLayer and a properly built Google Tag Manager
  • Executive dashboard — leads, clients, cost, revenue by channel
  • Real attribution from campaign to close (CRM integration or lead log)
  • GDPR compliance — Consent Mode v2, minimized data

“Half my marketing works. I don’t know which half.” — that was 1920.

Today it’s knowable. Every click, every lead, every client — traceable to the campaign, the ad and the euro that generated it. Most businesses don’t know because nobody built the infrastructure. Agency reports with likes and impressions aren’t measurement; they’re decoration.

What we build

  1. Foundations — a standardized dataLayer, a tidy Google Tag Manager, events defined with judgement. No tags stacked on tags.
  2. Server-side — Meta’s Conversions API, Google’s enhanced conversions. Events flow from the server, with hashed identifiers, immune to half the problems of browser tracking.
  3. Attribution — the link between marketing and what actually matters: leads that closed. We integrate with your CRM, or set up your lead log if you don’t have one.
  4. Dashboard — one screen: leads, clients, cost per client, revenue by channel. Up to date, honest, no noise.

Why it sits at the heart of the Engine

Because the Engine’s Optimize phase runs on data. Without measurement, “optimizing” is swapping things at random and hoping. With measurement, every month answers a question: what to scale, what to cut, what to test next. It’s the difference between marketing and marketing engineering.

Straight questions, straight answers

01 I already have Google Analytics installed. Isn't that enough? +

Analytics tells you visits; it doesn't tell you what each client cost or which campaign brought them. Between ad blockers, iOS and dying cookies, browser-only tracking loses a large slice of conversions. Serious measurement is server-side and connects marketing to revenue.

02 What is server-side tracking, in plain English? +

Instead of relying only on the visitor's browser (which blocks, drops and forgets), the important events are also sent from our server directly to the platforms (Google, Meta). The result — more complete data, campaigns that optimize better, lower cost per lead.

03 Is this legal under the GDPR? +

Yes, when done properly — and with us it is. Consent Mode v2, explicit consent before any marketing tag, minimized data and hashed identifiers. Measuring well and complying with the GDPR aren't incompatible; they just require engineering.

04 Is it worth it for a small business? +

The infrastructure scales to your size. For a local business we build the essentials — accurate numbers without unnecessary complexity. What doesn't change is the principle — without measurement, you're deciding blind.
